As the election season heats up, the spotlight is on local candidates vying for the position of mayor in Louisiana. Who is the Candidate?


Our candidate, Mark Haddock, moved to Louisiana as a 6th grader. After graduation from LHS in 1970 he attended college and joined the Navy and served 2 years in the medical corp. He has an Associates Degree in Cardio Pulmonary and a BS from the University of Missouri. He made a career in sales and marketing learning to network with a varied range of customers. At retirement he and his wife Sally made the move “home”, something they both knew they always wanted to do. Since moving back to Louisiana he and Sally have planted deep roots in Louisiana. They have both immersed themselves in community service. Mark believes in the power of community engagement and serves as an example for all of us! He serves on the board for the Louisiana Alumni and Friends Association, on the Louisiana Historic Museum board, on the board of the Buffalo Township United fund, as a Trustee of the Methodist Church and as a Rotarian; being honored as Rotarian of the year this year. Mark also serves as Co-Director of the Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner.


Mark and Sally enjoy living in Louisiana and share many common interests, all for the betterment of Louisiana residents.

Vision for the Future

Mark believes that community pride can’t be “enforced” but certainly encouraged. Maintenance and upkeep of of personal property, city thoroughfares and commercial buildings will be a focus for Mark as Mayor. Engaging volunteer groups and organizations to adopt neighborhoods, assist the elderly and making public properties a priority for cleanup


Community engagement


“Louisiana has many wonderful community organizations and when called upon they jump into action, no matter the cause. What a testament to our town.” The Louisiana City Government partnered with those groups and organizations; bringing an army of volunteers together could accomplish much!


Economic Development


  • Small Business Grants: Financial support for startups and local entrepreneurs.

  • Workforce Development & Job Training Programs: Devleoping a workforce to fill CURRENT unfilled positions within the community is a WIN for job seekers AND our business owners. Mark will work with local employers to develop a curriculum that could be used at the High School level and through our connections with Pike Lincoln Technical Center. Collaborations with local colleges to provide skills training for residents.

  • Partner City Government with the Louisiana Chamber Of Commerce and rebuild a relationship with the Pike County Economic Development.

  • utilize professionals on the state level of the Missouri Economic Development Department as a resource for funding opportunities, workforce workshops, workforce placement etc.


By focusing on local businesses, Mark aims to create a thriving economy that benefits everyone.


Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal responsibility is paramount in local government. The funds managed by City Hall are owned by the residents, and city officials are entrusted with their proper management and oversight. Mark emphasizes the necessity of effective budgeting, timely fee collection, prudent spending, and professional oversight.

Mark’s campaign has garnered significant support from various community groups and local leaders. His grassroots approach resonates with residents who are eager for change.

Mark shares this vision and is committed to prioritizing the needs of all residents in his leadership of the City of Louisiana. "I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone has a voice. While there will inevitably be instances where not everyone can be satisfied and difficult decisions must be made, I will ensure that each individual feels their voice has been heard and considered."
