Veolia: Louisiana Missouri Location

I’ve continued my visits throughout the community and was able to attend a meeting of the Pike County Commission. They shared some Grant information and discussed the future Highway 54 improvements and construction. This is an exciting time for Pike County and I’m anxious to make sure Louisiana becomes a major player in County decisions and improvements. Building a relationship with the commission and getting a voice at their table is of utmost importance.
I also got to visit with Mike Collard, Facility Manager of Veolia. He provided me with a tour of the facility. What an amazing concept and process. Veolia's facility in Louisiana, MO is a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) treatment, storage and disposal facility. A huge thank you to Mike and Rose Collard for thier time, sharing thier knowledge and for the great tour of the facility.
Since its startup in 2018, the location has operated a fully permitted treatment facility that uses ozone technology to sterilize medical waste and accepts waste for fuel blending and other treatment technologies. Most recently they have also developed a process and contracted for the disposal of windmill blades. To think we have a facility located right here in Louisiana that is turning waste into a clean industrial fuel is amazing and did I mention they employ 24 people!
I also visited with Mike about an Intern/Career program! This would be a great partnership between the company, school and the city. Yet another cog in the wheel of building my Workforce Development Platform!
